MAKING AND KEEPING YOUR OWN VISUAL DIARIES
Learn to make paste papers – which can be use as decorated paper for book covers – and two different book styles based on medieval structures: flexible Secret Belgian binding and Romanesque Braid binding with hard covers. ART CLAY SILVER JEWELLERY
Experiment and create a ring, pendant and charm all in one weekend from Art Clay Silver, a water-based clay made of pure silver powder, water and non-toxic organic binder. Once dried, it becomes hard like plaster, enabling you to carve it, engrave it, file it and sand it to a perfect finish before firing. During firing, the non-toxic binder burns away and the silver particles combine to form a solid 99.9% pure silver object which can be hallmarked. Suitable for all skill levels.
Rachel Owen has been teaching Art Clay Silver for two years, and has seen it rapidly become a favourite among people working with beads, jewellery and craft art. She enjoys watching the amazement people get when they see what they can create from the product! www.prettylittlethings.co.nz.
Date: Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 July Time 10.00am – 4.30pm Place: Arts Centre Venues Cost: $140 (includes materials)
