Located in the heart of Christchurch, the Arts Centre is one of the most significant clusters of heritage buildings in New Zealand.
Before the devastating Canterbury earthquakes, the Arts Centre was renowned as a place for arts, culture, education and creativity – and it is poised to reclaim its place once again from 2016. Visitors will also be able to enjoy other complementary activities such as shopping, eating and renting work spaces, and we are currently taking enquiries from people interested in leasing space.
The restoration of the Arts Centre is about half finished and there are already lots of reasons to pay us a visit. While a significant amount of the restoration has been paid for, there’s still a substantial shortfall in funds to complete it and the Arts Centre is actively fundraising.
Opportunities will also be created for the community to share in progress, be part of events and activities, and help shape the future of the Arts Centre.
