Scott Flanagan on Radio NZ

Special Event on 9 June!

From 7pm in the School of Art 4 room at the Arts Centre, both recipeints of the 2010 Arts Centre/Asia New Zealand Foundation Arts Residence Exchange, Hee K. Bae (Korea) and Scott Flanagan (NZ) will speak about their experiences on this residency exchange and answer questions from the audience.

The School of Art 4 room is located behind Annie's wine bar.

31 March: Jimin Kim update

Jimin Kim (2009 AIR) will have a solo exhibition at the OCI Museum in Seoul from 1 September this year. He has also been accepted for a residency at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Fukuoka, Japan this September.

23 February: Scott Flanagan and Hee-Kyoung Bae

Scott Flanagan has been selected to travel to the Goyang Studio, run by the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea for a 3-mont residency, beginning in March. While there, the Arts Centre will host Korean painter, Hee-Kyoung Bae for the same duration. Hee-Kyoung is currently in residence at the Goyang Studio. The artists will meet one another in Christchurch at the culmination of their residencies. Both  For more information, see the media release. Both Scott and Hee-Kyoung will have public showings of their work at the Arts Centre, later this year.

 

1 February: Liu Jieqiong

Chinese paper cut artist, Liu Jieqiong will arrive this Sunday from Shaanxi Province in China. She will be taking paper cut workshops at Christchurch Schools and at the Arts Centre, the latter are availabe to members of the public. For more information, click here.

19 August:  Bus. Stop. An Arts Centre Public Art Project. This project features the work of Artist in Residence, Sukjoon Jang. Her artworks will be installed in bus shetler light boxes around the city for one month.
