Located within the Arts Centre’s stunning complex of heritage buildings, this attractive and comfortable first-floor apartment is fully self-contained and accommodates up to three guests.

The open plan kitchen, living and dining spaces have magnificent views over the Botanic Gardens, whilst bedrooms and bathroom occupy a spacious mezzanine.

Wireless internet is also included.

Arts Centre Attractions

The Arts Centre is one of Christchurch’s most visited attractions; here you’ll find some of Christchurch’s best restaurants, cafés and bars, Canterbury’s professional theatre company—the Court Theatre, art-house  cinema and over 40 specialty shops and galleries.   Fresh local produce and artisan food feature in our weekly Farmers’ Market and with over 80 stalls, including an international food fair, our Weekend Market adds plenty of colour and life every Saturday and Sunday.

The Arts Centre

Established in 1873 as Canterbury College (later the University of Canterbury), the Arts Centre is now a heritage site of national significance as well as an acclaimed centre for arts, culture and education.

Located at the heart of Christchurch’s cultural precinct, from here it’s just a short walk to the city’s art gallery and Cathedral Square. Canterbury Museum, punting on the Avon River and a stroll around the Botanic Gardens are quite literally on your doorstep.

Artist in Residence Programme

The Arts Centre is widely recognised for the contribution it makes to the cultural life of the city and the centre is justifiably proud of its artist in residence programme. Every year, a small number of artists - both national and international - are selected to take up residency and provided with accommodation and studio space on-site. This programme is directly supported by your stay in the Arts Centre apartment.
