Facilities management is a passion for Brad, and his extensive experience encompasses both old and contemporary buildings.
He has worked in facilities management since 2005 – five years with the military and seven within the arts sector.
In 2011, he left a role at Christchurch Art Gallery in order to work for Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art. They had nearly completed the extension and reconfiguration of their existing building, with Brad establishing the maintenance, security and cleaning contracts.
He moved on to work at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, followed by the Australian Museum where Brad oversaw its base building upgrade of Australia’s first museum gallery.
“Working at the Arts Centre has allowed me to move home and also means I’m able to continue with my passion of working with heritage buildings and the teams looking after them,” he says.
“The other side of this is working with the tenants and staff to build up the operational side of the Arts Centre.”
Brad’s main responsibilities include the daily aspects of the operational site, ensuring it is compliant, safe and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.
