With her previous role managing the Patrons and Friends programme at Christchurch Arts Festival, and a background in business and technology, Susan is in charge of fundraising activities at the Arts Centre for what is arguably one of the largest heritage restorations in the world.
This includes engaging with a wide spectrum of donors, from the interested members of the public, visitors to the city, individual benefactors and trusts, through to commercial sponsorships. “The people of Christchurch support the project – they are really missing the Arts Centre as a special and valued focal point for arts and entertainment – and many are willing to step up and get involved in the process.”
She says the restoration programme is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to completely rethink the Arts Centre, and make it more accessible and relevant to a diverse range of people. “A transformed and reawakened Arts Centre at the heart of the city is the vision, and we want to encourage supporters to become active partners in helping us to achieve this, through engagement and feedback, and financial funding or in-kind donations.”
Susan holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
