The winter solstice is a time to finish planting crops, and come together with friends and whānau to enjoy the delights of the harvest.

Learn about the midwinter celebrations of Matariki and Saturnalia through a free and fun kids’ activity book!

Featuring information on Māori and ancient Roman festive fun, the activity book invites tamariki of all ages to explore the Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities in search of kai and inspiration for a winter feast.

The activity will be available in the museum throughout Matariki and the school holidays.

This event is wheelchair accessible.

The Arts Centre has a limited number of 10 and 30 minute visitor carparks located at Market Square near the corner of Worcester Boulevard and Montreal Street.

Plenty of on-street metered parking is available near the Arts Centre, along with a number of off-street carparks.
