KidsFest #glitter school holiday workshops

9-11 July 2019 - Maker Workshop

Immerse yourself in the world of glitter!

The assortment of small, reflective particles in a rainbow of colours and shapes have fascinated societies since prehistoric times.

These school holidays The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora invites all kids aged between 10 and 13 years old to come and experience the story behind glitter, learn what it is made from, and discover traditional glitter’s impact on the environment. They will also create their own glitter body art stencil and take-home glitter lip gloss using biodegradable glitter.

Our sparkly participants in these KidsFest workshops will each be given their very own scientist lab coat to wear for the day and encouraged to go crazy with their hairstyles. There will also be some working in pairs so bring a friend or a family member too.
