Houstoun: Bach’s 48
28 & 29 October, 2pm - The Great Hall
The Great Hall’s incredible acoustics will be brought to life by New Zealand concert pianist Michael Houstoun when he plays Bach’s famous 48 Prelude and Fugues.
Born in Timaru, Michael began piano lessons with a nun at the age of five and went on to become one of New Zealand’s most established concert pianists.
A strong advocate of New Zealand music, Michael is also a big Beethoven fan. During the 1990s he played Beethoven’s complete sonatas in five cycles around New Zealand and Australia.
