The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora is an exciting and purposeful place to work. This arts and cultural landmark has gradually been re-opening following major earthquake restoration work and has the following positions available.

Mākete Supervisor

7am – 6pm, every 2nd Sunday (hours can change slightly due to Mākete size)

Flexible starting date of Sunday 20th of October
Permanent part time

Arts Centre Mākete set up and overall supervision when the coordinator is not rostered on site.

Key tasks

  • Mākete set up, pack down and operations.
  • On-site communication with staff, stall holders/vendors, customers and neighbours.
  • Communication with the Mākete co-ordinator and the programmes and partnerships manager to ensure ongoing planning and smooth operations.
  • During Mākete hours manage the Arts Centre stall which includes providing information, basic first aid kit, selling small range of merchandise.
  • Updating the Mākete social media platforms during the Mākete hours.

A full, clean driver’s license and confidence backing trailers would be a benefit but not completely necessary for the right candidate

 

Mākete Set Up Team Member

7am – 9.30am and 4pm – 6pm, every Sunday (hours can change slightly due to Mākete size)

Flexible starting date of Sunday 20th of October

Arts Centre Mākete set up.

Key tasks

  • Set up and pack down of the Mākete canopies (working with in a team of 3 or 4) as per supplied set out plans.
  • Full, clean driver’s license and confidence backing trailers.
  • Set up of safety and power to food trucks and stalls.
  • Moving/relocating of fences.
  • Laying out other Mākete equipment as required or instructed, for example – tables, chairs, toys etc.
  • Managing the safe flow of stall holders during pack in and pack out.
  • Operating random checks of electrical tagging, ie: checking stall holders equipment have the appropriate and correct safety tags.
  • Distributing health and safety sheets.
  • Collecting unpaid stall fees.
