Sponsor the restoring, cleaning and repair of a stained glass window
Sponsor the restoration of an original stained glass window from the late 1800s as part of the huge restoration project at the Arts Centre – then come and visit it the next time you are in town. There are many stained glass windows around the Arts Centre site, with original leading and both clear and coloured European glass. These are a major feature of the Neo Gothic architecture on the site. We would dedicate one of these windows specifically to your donation, enabling you to point it out to friends and family when you visit.
After the earthquake, many of the windows were either removed and stored offsite or were boarded up for support. Wherever possible the glass windows are being repaired and cleaned by the skilled South Island team at Stewart Stained Glass, but some sections need completely replaced with new high-quality European glass. Additionally, the leading that holds the glass together is over 100 years old and has become brittle, and so some of this is being replaced. New supportive and protective structures and coverings are also being added.
Sponsor the restoration of an original stained glass window as a unique gift for someone special. We would also offer you a carved piece of stone to honour your donation. You can also opt to receive a free Arts Centre card, imprinted with the details of the sponsorship on the inside left side for you to send to them.
Your sponsorship will be classed as a charitable donation and a tax receipt will be provided. Please note if paying via credit card that we only accept Visa and MasterCard.
