Body adornment meets art at a new tattoo and body piercing studio and gallery that has opened on the ground floor of the Boys’ High building.
Absolution has been operating for more than 20 years – making it one of the oldest tattoo studios in Christchurch – and owner Naith Morrow is pleased to be bringing it back to the central city.
“Our new studio puts us at the heart of an environment full of likeminded creative individuals and in close proximity to other Christchurch landmarks. I’m confident the combination of location and heritage will mean our business can grow and diversify.”
Absolution is dedicated to the clean and artistic application of tattoos and body jewellery, plus the studio doubles as a contemporary art gallery that features monthly revolving exhibitions.
“The studio is designed to be inviting and provides exhibition space for both hanging art and sculpture. Body jewellery is presented on plinths to reinforce the concept that body adornmentand art are cohesive,” Naith says.
“We use only the highest quality products available, sourcing brands that are internationally recognised. Our relevant experience, combined with the conscientious approach we take to raising industry standards, all add up to setting us apart from other studios.”
