Hūtia kā Kara | Raise the Flags

Venue: Te Whare Tapere

Hūtia kā Kara is a public flag exhibition; by, for, with, to and beyond tamariki, rakatahi and tuakana artists who whakapapa Māori. Together they will explore the narratives and changing perspectives of Te Tiriti o Waitangi: The Treaty of Waitangi.

In the week leading up to the 9th of Feb, the rakatahi will be in wānaka with Linda Munn and Tame Iti to develop and design a 'new version' of a Tino Rangatiratanga Flag.

The flags will be launched on the 9th of Feb in a small opening that is lead by and focused on the rakatahi artists of Hūtia Kā Kara, and the flags will be flown outside and inside Te Whare Tapere for the month.
