Think you can build Ōtautahi’s Next Top Rocket?

For the upcoming school holidays, The Arts Centre is teaming up with Te Whai Ao – Dodd-Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technologies to celebrate World Space Week with a design and engineering challenge: rockets!

At this workshop, you will manipulate mass, think through thrust, leverage lift and reduce resistance as you explore and experiment with different aerodynamic forces. Then get hands-on through prototyping, lab-testing, and refining your design as we count down to liftoff! Will your rocket fly farthest? Come along and find out!
