The Los Angeles Percussion Quartet

The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora and the University of Canterbury School of Music Kura Puoro presents this annual series of concerts.

The second concert in the three-event series is The Los Angeles Percussion Quartet.

The Grammy-nominated Los Angeles Percussion Quartet present their New Zealand debut concert of modern works written for percussion quartet with and without electronics.

They will perform some of their signature recent commissions from the West Coast of the Unites States alongside some seminal classics from the region.

The concert will feature virtuosic displays of rhythm, sound, light, and movement on over 60 different percussion instruments from around the world, including drums, marimbas, conch shells, tin cans, cricket callers, wooden rulers, and a lion’s roar.

The Arts Centre has a limited number of 10 and 30 minute visitor carparks located at Market Square near the corner of Worcester Boulevard and Montreal Street.

Plenty of on-street metered parking is available near the Arts Centre, along with a number of off-street carparks.
