This sculpture was exhibited at The Arts Centre Sculpture Festival 2025. The artist Justin Galligan chose a piano to signify artforms experienced here: sculpture, music, and performance. Furthermore, the piece represents memories from childhood when Galligan visited his great-aunt and was mesmerised by the sound and beauty of the instrument. When he was very small, he remembered it being a stretch to reach the keys. The larger scale of this work refers to that and to how some memories can feel larger than life.

Justin Galligan was born in Western Australia and now lives in Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand. He uses wire and steel to sketch in three dimensions.

He is represented at a number of South Island galleries, including LeStrange Gallery and Form Gallery, Christchurch, and The Diversion Gallery, Picton.
