We're honoured to be part of the newly launched Tohu Whenua Waitaha Canterbury – a national programme that highlights Aotearoa’s most significant heritage places.

We're joining forces with 11 iconic sites from Kaikōura to Timaru that showcase the rich stories and history of our unique region. 

Tohu whenua is a partnership between Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, Department of Conservation and Ministry for Culture and Heritage, with support from Te Puni Kōkiri and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Ancient art galleries, coastal walks and architectural landmarks are just some of the must-dos you’ll find in the Waitaha Canterbury itinerary.

Immerse yourself in early Māori history and explore the places where trailblazing Cantabrians made their homes, fed their communities and created social change as you visit Tohu Whenua in this region.
