Corban Te Aika

Corban (Ngāi Tahu) was appointed as a Trustee of Te Matatiki Toi Ora | The Arts Centre of Christchurch Trust Board in July 2021.

He now works independently across several kaupapa, providing Mātauranga Māori advisory services and facilitation, and lectures at Aotahi: School of Māori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Canterbury. His previous roles include Kaiārahi in the College of Engineering at the University of Canterbury, and Curator of Human History (Mātauranga Māori) at Canterbury Museum, Mana Whenua Education Advisor for Mātauraka Mahaanui. Corban holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canterbury, majoring in Māori and Indigenous Studies, Te Reo Māori, and Political Science.
