INTERWOVEN is the 2026 graduating exhibition of Lincoln University’s Landscape Architecture students, celebrating their ideas, processes and perspectives.
Each student presents a Major Design project, developed across multiple scales, from regional and master plans through to detailed design, planting, and form and materials strategies. Together the projects span Aotearoa, from Whāingaroa (Raglan), Tūrangi and Tongariro to Riwaka, Lake Ōhau, Ōtautahi Christchurch and Ōtepoti Dunedin, across coastal, rural, alpine and urban landscapes. Many respond to the challenges facing our communities, including flooding and sea-level rise, wildfire risk, post-earthquake recovery and housing growth. Others weave whakapapa, mahinga kai and cultural identity into their designs, honouring the stories of the places they work in.
Running through the work is the idea that landscapes are shaped by many intersecting threads, such as culture, ecology, memory and time, but converge on the common grounds of Te Taiao, whenua and the wider world we inhabit. Visitors can explore each project through hero images and design sheets, and see how each student’s individual design voice has developed. It is a chance to see the past, present and future of landscape architecture in Aotearoa.
