May 27 – Consortia goes Kiwi

UC’s chamber choir, Consortia, performs a programme for New Zealand Music Month, focusing on New Zealand choral music. They will be joined by special guests on percussion as well as UC’s Head of Performance Music, Mark Menzies.

July 22 – Celestial Strings

Featuring cellist Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick (USA), with other special guests, UC’s Head of Performance Music, Mark Menzies curates this special concert of string music. The programme will feature compositions by Mozart and a premiere of an original composition especially for this ensemble to celebrate the festival of Matariki.

September 23 – Musical Guerrilla Games

Featuring Monteverdi’s Madrigals of Love & War, UC’s Gamelan Ensemble and John Zorn’s Cobra. A variety of musical responses to life’s big issues featuring stunning dynamics and a huge range of different instruments!

The Arts Centre has a limited number of 10 and 60 minute visitor carparks located at Market Square near the corner of Worcester Boulevard and Montreal Street.

Plenty of on-street metered parking is available near the Arts Centre, along with a number of off-street carparks.
