Stella Ward

Board member


Stella Ward currently leads the Pointnext Sales and Services team at Hewlett Packard Enterprise NZ.

Stella joined HPE in March 2022 having previously been a key customer of HPE and a member of the WW HPE Advisory Board where she provided insight on the HPE strategy and was a key contributor across many of the ideas and innovations that HPE promoted to the market.

Prior to joining Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Stella led the All of Government Cloud Programme as the Executive Director within the office of the Government Chief Digital Officer at the Department of Internal Affairs and prior to that she was the Chief Digital Officer at Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards leading a significant Data and Digital transformation.

Stella is a strong supporter of many aspects of the Christchurch tech industry and holds several governance roles for not-for-profit organisations. Regarded as an advocate for innovation and a leader in digital health, Stella has held multiple executive leadership roles in several DHB’s, including a 10-year stint at CDHB in the Executive Director Allied Heath and Chief Digital Officer roles.

In her roles with CDHB, one of her many responsibilities was the development of Christchurch’s Te Papa Hauora Health Precinct, which she views as an essential part of the regeneration of the city.

Stella studied Speech and Language Therapy at University of Canterbury and has a Master of Health Sciences from Otago University.

Stella lives in Christchurch with her partner.
