Martin Poppelwell Exhibition

1 February to 4 March 2018 - The Central

The graphic, illustrative and humorous work of New Zealand artist Martin Poppelwell can be viewed and purchased at The Central Art Gallery until 4 March.

Martin presents new sets of work where objects and sculptures act as models for paintings and drawings. Representing information across multiple formats allows him to critique and re-edit works, almost as if they are by someone else.

Combining intimate daily observations, diary notes and references from reading, one gets the sense of an ongoing conversation where exposing oneself is rather commonplace.

Born in Hawkes Bay, Poppelwell is an established artist and his practice has a visual language all of its own – don’t miss this opportunity to view these beautiful works at The Central Art Gallery.
