Quad Eatery

Quad Eatery opened with a bang in November 2016 and fast became a top destination for locals and tourists alike.

The cafe specialises in the perfect cup of coffee served in a range of brew methods including syphon, aeropress, pour-over, cold-drip and espresso using its own blend, The Dark Horse.

It is a licenced venue serving a variety of New Zealand wines, beers and cider.

Bunsen offers a full brunch/lunch menu that is updated with the seasons, daily specials and a well-stocked cabinet for lighter meals, sweet treats and options for those on the go.

Inspired by the history of the Clock Tower building it’s located in, which was once home to Canterbury College/University of Canterbury chemistry and science lecture theatres, the cafe has created a chemistry den style establishment.

There are four different seating areas – the sun-drenched courtyard on Worcester Boulevard where you can watch the Christchurch Tram roll by; the upstairs mezzanine area, which is perfect for large groups and functions; our downstairs area where you can be a part of the buzz; and a couple of sought-after tables in The Arts Centre’s North Quad, perfect for admiring the beautifully restored heritage buildings.
