My Heartland – by Ira Mitchell-Kirk

6 - 19 August 2018 - Pumanawa exhibition space

Ira Mitchell-Kirk’s show is a collection of landscapes which are dear to her heart, each having a significant meaning to her life journey. From the high country of Glenorchy and Queenstown where she grew up, to Christchurch which has been her home for the past 20 years. Her hard-edged style reduces the landscape to plains of colours and shapes, creating a minimalized visual vernacular; recognizable to the viewer.

Ira regularly donates her art and energies to community groups, including the Cassino RSA Italy and the Golden Arts Foundation New York, being recognized for her work with a Canterbury Civic Award and NZer of the Year, Local Hero award.

Aviva – Family Violence Services will be the recipient of a percentage of the profit from this show.
