New Music Central – The Court Jesters

25 March 2019 - Chemistry

For The Court Jesters, every performance is an improvisation.

Every character, every line of dialogue, in the moment, responsive and (usually) hilarious.

What happens when that meets the world of improvisational music?

Find out in this exciting University of Canterbury School of Music New Music Central concert, a collaboration between comedy favourites The Court Jesters and their favourite musicians.

The Court Jesters are a company of Christchurch’s funniest people dedicated to making quality comedy for good humans. They are most widely known for Scared Scriptless, New Zealand’s longest running comedy show, which turns 29 this year.

Led by Artistic Director Dan Bain, The Court Jesters company is a diverse bunch of multi-talented and award-festooned people that includes actors, theatre makers, writers, comedians, educators, and one radiologist who happens to be freakishly good at being funny.
