The Manghi Villani Duo

6pm, 2 March - Great Hall

The Embassy of Italy in Wellington is very pleased to present:

The Manghi Villani Duo in Italy XX Century

Luca Manghi and Flavio Villani, Italian musicians now based in New Zealand, will perform in public together for the first time, a programme of twentieth century Italian works for flute and piano. They will explore the various musical styles of a century of Italian music, with works by neoclassicism of Giorgio Ferrari, the more contemporary works of Luciano Beno and Salvatore Sciarrino, and an homage to New Zealand musical tradition with a work by Gillian Whitehead.

The programme of solo and chamber music works, prepared especially for this occasion, showcases the perfect synergy between the two instruments, and the talent of the musicians.
