The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora is developing a Health Technology Quadrant which will be launched next year in the original Canterbury College School of Engineering buildings which sit at the heart of The Arts Centre.

The long-term ambition is for this to become more than just a place for health technology companies to co-locate, it will become a community of connection, inspiration, and support, through the development of the Health Tech Quadrant whereby advisory services such as commercial, intellectual property, investment, strategy, export, quality and regulatory advice are wrapped around these companies to provide the support high growth companies need to succeed.

Welcome to Maxine Burney Art Studio/Gallery
Maxine Burney creates original, eclectic paintings from her light-filled, iconic Art Centre studio. Renowned for her versatility, she effortlessly moves between diverse genres—from evocative landscapes and pure abstractions to symbolic interpretations of life, dreams, travel, and nature. Maxine also offers art cards, bookmarks, reproductions (photo or archival giclées), and unique gifts.

Busking opportunities at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre

We are making a space available for buskers to perform along Worcester Boulevard (on the grass area in front of the Boys' High building) for 1 - 2 hour slots with the aim of this being a daily activation of the site.

Supporting us to make a differenceTe Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre relies upon grants from several New Zealand trusts and foundations to help keep the doors open and activities underway, allowing The Arts Centre to connect with 650,000 people each year who visit the site and enjoy both the heritage atmosphere and the range of performances, children’s programmes and exhibitions on show.
