Cubbin Theatre’s distinctive approach prioritises the needs of their very young audience. Their critically acclaimed show, Up and Away, for infants who cannot yet walk was developed in collaboration with a Speech Language Therapist and is performed to very small numbers inside a gently lit teepee, where the audience can crawl around safely. In March 2025, Cubbin Theatre performed this show by invitation at the prestigious ASSITEJ International festival in Marseille, France.

Delight your senses and develop your own signature scent at Christchurch’s new artisan perfumery at The Arts Centre. Fragranzi offers unique perfumes, created by Christchurch perfumer, Conan Fee, who has been teaching fragrance design as a professor and head of the School of Product Design at the University of Canterbury, for the past three years. Conan himself learned his skills from professional perfumers based in Thailand, New Zealand and the UK. He says it is a great balance of science and art, and there is always so much more to learn and experience.

Violinists Hayley Jiang and Natalija Sekicki are both earning national recognition as musicians under the tutelage of Stephen Larsen. They will sweep you away with their impressive performance.

Sangkutsa

Sangkutsa is a Christchurch-based food truck serving modern interpretation of the Philippines cuisine and re-creates these flavours using local produce found in Canterbury.
A must-try is their crowd favourite, Sinigang Crispy Chicken – boneless chicken drizzled with tangy tamarind glaze (our little umami bomb) on rice, or Adobo sa Gata Fried Chicken, boneless chicken drizzled with coconut-infused soy sauce on rice. They also have delicious Beef Pares, Canterbury beef slow-cooked for 12 hours with rich sweet soy sauce on rice, garnished with bean sprouts and fried garlic.
