Balikbayan is a solo multimedia exhibition by artist Harvey Colina.
From newcomers to generational migrants, the exhibition seeks to explore the Filipino immigrant experience in Aotearoa New Zealand and other foreign lands. To shine a light on their struggles of cultural differences, sacrifices made to adapt, language barriers and racism.
Their complex journeys and challenges are shared, all to seek a better future not only for themselves but for their families.
