KidsFest: Heritage Stargazing at the Observatory Tower 2026

Experience stargazing from the Observatory Tower (1896) at The Arts Centre. Join us for a short 30-minute kid-friendly experience to view the Southern Sky through the Victorian-era Townsend Teece Telescope, under the guidance of Townsend astronomers from the University of Canterbury.

Cubbin Theatre, the only company in Aotearoa New Zealand dedicated to making theatre for babies and very young children, has had its Company in Residence programme at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre in Christchurch extended through 2026 and 2027, following an initial one year residency in 2025.

In the welcoming setting of my cozy space at The Registry Building, I offer both art therapy and counseling, helping clients find practical ways to understand their emotions and behaviors. Together, we work towards feeling better, restoring self-trust, and fostering healthier relationships.

Busking opportunities at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre

We are making a space available for buskers to perform along Worcester Boulevard (on the grass area in front of the Boys' High building) for 1 - 2 hour slots with the aim of this being a daily activation of the site.
