We are privileged to host Iris Liu's first ever solo piano recital. After just six years of formal training, Iris has already achieved her ATCL in piano and distinguished herself with her musicality, rhythm, and dedication.

Iris Liu, aged 14, is currently a Year 10 student at Burnside High School. She began learning the piano at the age of eight under the guidance of Yi Sun, and she is currently also studying with Lixin Zhang. Although her formal training has not been long, Iris quickly distinguished herself through her musical talent and ability to understand and interpret music. With a keen and steady sense of rhythm, refined and expressive musicality, and a disciplined commitment to daily practice, she has made astonishing progress within just a few short years.

She has now completed the Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Piano Performance from Trinity College London and is actively preparing for the more advanced Licentiate Diploma (LTCL). Iris has also achieved outstanding results in several piano competitions. In Year 9, her exceptional musical ability earned her a place in her school’s SMP Program, where she has frequently served as a piano accompanist for important school performances, gaining valuable experience and recognition for her musical sensitivity and reliability.

Beyond the piano, Iris has also explored other performing arts. She studied tap dance for three years and street dance for two years. These diverse artistic experiences have enriched her sense of rhythm, movement, and stage expression, bringing vitality and imagination to her musical performances.

After six years of dedication, passion, and perseverance, Iris now steps onto the stage for her very first solo piano recital. This concert marks a significant milestone in 2026 and represents a brilliant and promising beginning of her musical journey. May she continue to follow her passion, explore new artistic horizons, and soar ever higher on her musical path.

This event is part of the 2026 Rising Stars programme happening on specific Tuesdays. You can view the full programme here.
