Te Whare Tapere presents a fundraising screening of Mārama at Lumière Cinemas on 31 March 2026.
Directed by Taratoa Stappard, Mārama is a Māori Gothic film that draws on horror to explore the enduring impacts of colonisation, power and displacement Premiering at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, the film marks an important moment for contemporary Māori storytelling.
The rating for Mārama is RP16 (Domestic violence, violence and content that may disturb).
Doors open at 5.30pm, with the screening beginning at 6.15pm. Tickets are $32 and include a glass of wine or non-alcoholic drink on arrival, along with light refreshments.
