Venue: Cloisters Studio

In this multi-award-winning collaboration presented by Good Company Arts, we are acquainted with a solo traveller who signifies both the male and female aspects of Hineraukatauri.

Hineraukatauri, atua of traditional musical instruments, is the kaitiaki of all flutes or kōauau from the taonga pūoro family. The motif of the case moth is evoked as dance combines with taonga pūoro, craft and digital media. The pūtōrino instrument is tapered at both ends resembling the form of a cocoon. The dancer maps dimensional thresholds through a network of mycelium-like webs. From what might be the mouth of an ancient cave, she/he asserts a potent projection of hope to the future.
