Bio
Harry Harrison has produced a large body of jazz compositions spanning across styles from the avant-garde to post-bop, contemporary, ballads, jazz-funk and bossa. A range of work written for large and small jazz ensembles, symphony orchestra and solo guitar. Melodic lyricism set amongst adventurous harmony and form, and a guitar style that shifts between warm classic jazz tones through to a contemporary overdriven, angular sound.
An experienced festival and concert artist, Harry has performed in events around New Zealand and overseas, performing shows for Christchurch International Jazz and Blues Festival, Christchurch Arts Festival, Neslon Arts Festival, Nelson, Tauranga, Waiheke and Queenstown Jazz Festivals. In addition to this are numerous performances with Auckland Philharmonia, Wellington Vector and Christchurch Symphony Orchestras, showcasing jazz and popular music.
