    Join the Friends of the Arts Centre for a Fundraising Film Night on Wednesday 22 April in aid of Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre.

    There will be a glass of bubbles* and some canapés in the upstairs Bijou Bar at Lumière Cinemas at 5.15pm, followed by a private showing at 6.00pm of the movie “TENOR: My Name is Pati, proclaimed as "a pitch-perfect, intimate portrait ... truly entertaining and enlightening viewing".

    Hailed as “the next Pavarotti”, the charismatic Samoan singer and Sol3 Mio bandmate Pene Pati has been wowing critics and audiences around the world since his operatic debut.

    Directed by Rebecca Tansley, TENOR: My Name Is Pati follows Pene’s journey alongside his brother Amitai — also a rising opera star — from their humble beginnings in the South Pacific to the world’s greatest opera houses.

    Weaving intimate family archive footage with behind-the-scenes moments and soaring performances, this music-rich documentary blends humour and heart to reveal how family, cultural pride, and determination can carry an unlikely dream to the world stage.

    Tickets are $30 + BF, and all proceeds go to the Friends of the Arts Centre, who support projects at The Arts Centre. 

    Lumière Cinemas are located at 26 Rolleston Avenue. The screening will be in the Bernhardt Theatre which is located on the second floor, the Bijou bar is also located on the second floor. There is full accessibility access to the theatre via a lift, which is entered from the North Quadrangle. Please notify us in advance via the email below if you require a wheelchair space in the theatre.
