Venue: Maxine Burney's Studio & Art Gallery
Create an original piece of Needlework/Embroidery using colourful threads.
Needlework/Embroidery is a timeless artform, both decorative and practical, fun and absorbing.
Artist Maxine Burney will demonstrate the basic stitches and get you started using large tapestry needles to stitch direct onto hessian. From there, you'll move to smaller, sharper needles, and have the opportunity to embellish your work with buttons and/or beads.
Along the way, you'll make new discoveries. Your work will evolve and your stitches will become truly original.
The skills taught in this workshop are transferable to clothing, fabrics, mending, up-cycling or generally making something unique!
Age 8+
Minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 per session.
