'From Avon to Alps' is an art exhibition of original paintings by Polina Collins inspired by the natural beauty and diversity of New Zealand. Featuring scenes that span from the gentle waterways of Christchurch’s Avon River to the dramatic peaks of the Southern Alps, the paintings capture the atmosphere, colour, and changing light unique to New Zealand.
Created using acrylic and mixed media, the works combine layered textures and vibrant colours to transform familiar New Zealand scenery into expressive images.
Visitors will experience a diverse collection of original paintings that invite reflection while celebrating the beauty and character of New Zealand’s natural scenery, with artworks available for viewing and purchase.

Michael Khor began learning the piano at the age of 4 with Neville Baird. He currently learns from Marnie Barrell. Michael’s performing experience includes the Christchurch Piano Competition, NZCT Chamber Music Competition, IRMT recitals and competitions, and many more. Some of Michael’s significant successes include the Soroptomist Scholarship at age 10, the ROSL Scholarship at age 13, and NZCT Chamber Music Contest placings in 2024.

The series concludes on a high note, featuring two rising stars whose careers are rapidly gaining momentum. Cellist Christine Jeon and pianist Matthew Seinafo were both awarded the 2026 Pettman Royal Overseas League Scholarships, supporting an extensive European tour for performances and professional development. It’s remarkable to think Christine first appeared in the Rising Stars Recital Series as recently as 2020.
