Walk Christchurch Tour Guide

operated by The Arts Centre

The Original Ōtautahi Christchurch Highlights Walk - Volunteer role description

Lead small groups of visitors on walks in central Christchurch, giving them a great experience and good understanding of our fantastic city.

As our walks combine information on our city's history, recent past and current development, guides need to have a good knowledge of Christchurch & Canterbury. That said, Walk Christchurch has a range of resources to support guides. It provides structured induction/training & familiarisation for new guides and ongoing education/training for all guides.

Guides are expected to be available for up to four walks each month in the busy visitor season, with a lesser commitment in other months.

Role requirements

  • Fit & active to lead walking groups in a cheerful & enthusiastic manner.
  • Good communication skills with a diverse range of walkers.
  • Good general knowledge about Christchurch & Canterbury.
  • Guides must be at least 18 years old.
