    With captivating stage presence and crowd participation, Mundi creates a vibrant and energetic dance floor filled with joy and fun that lures people into an ancient memory of the pulse of life and awakens our dancing selves lurking beneath. Filled with joy and exuberant energy, Mundi has captured hearts across the land and far-flung seas, touring and performing extensively. In 2025, Mundi put on a whopping 30 dates around NZ, bringing their mesmerizing performances to a plethora of different venues and festivals. They interlace stories through music of our interactions with nature and ourselves on a sizzling array of instruments: African and Brazilian percussion, flutes, guitar, bass, vocals and dances intertwined. 

    Mundi has also been involved in collaborations with Pub Choir in the Christchurch Town Hall and internationally renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Marlon Williams as part of Yo-Yo Ma's Bach Project and opened for legendary Chilean musician Nano Stern. They have recorded a new album “The Windless Moon” to be released in December 2026 and a new song “Sun God” featuring Tamara’s Myth which was released on December 11th 2025 with a breathtaking new music video to go along with it.  

    Mundi comprises Brazilian percussionist Ricardo Stuani, guitarist and dancer Chris Dabinett, bassist Mike Story and flautist, vocalist, percussionist, dancer and composer Tamara Smith.

    Ticket Information

    • Premium Table Seating includes one complimentary drink on arrival and shared table seating close to the stage.
    • Platters are available to pre-order with Premium Table Seating.
    • General Admission is theatre-style seating.
    • Door sales will only be available if the event has not sold out prior.
    • The Great Hall bar will be open throughout the evening.
    • Please note this event is card only, no cash sales will be accepted for door or bar sales.

     

    This event is part of The Arts Centre's Jazz Club. Set within the Great Hall, Jazz Club is a relaxed evening of live music, drinks, and conversation in an intimate cabaret-style setting. Combining an unforgettable venue with music that sparkles, The Arts Centre Jazz Club delivers an authentic jazz lovers' experience. Funk, big band, traditional, experimental, tango, and more, Jazz Club will showcase the best of Ōtautahi's rich jazz scene.
