School Holiday Fun

SOLD OUT: Putiputi Weaving

Wednesday 7 October

Time

12.30PM – 3.30PM

Venue: Te Whare Tapere

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whare Tapere.

Come along and join Lily Williams for a relaxed wānanga weaving putiputi.

Whether this is your first time working with harakeke or you have woven before, all are welcome to come together, learn and create alongside one another.

Lily will guide you through preparing and working with harakeke and the steps to weave your own putiputi. Along the way, Lily will share the tikanga she follows when working with harakeke, with plenty of time to practice, share kōrero and ask pātai.

No previous raranga experience is needed. Harakeke and everything needed for the wānanga will be provided, and you can take your putiputi home with you at the end of the session.

All welcome.

Primarily for ages 7+. Tamariki under 7 will need to be accompanied by an adult who can tautoko them with their weaving. Please include accompanying adults in your registration numbers so we can make sure there is space for everyone.
