    Respond to The Arts Centre's architecture and art you see in the Sculpture Festival to make clay sculptures of your own with Sharon Johnson. Starting at the Maker Workshop we will explore the Sculpture Festival works in the Great Hall and North Quad before heading back to the Maker Workshop to make your own clay sculpture.

    Recommended Ages: 8 - 14 yrs

    Artist Bio

    Sharon Johnson is an exhibiting artist and qualified Secondary School Teacher. During her teaching career, she has taught art at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels. Sharon also has a post graduate degree in painting from Ilam School of Fine Arts, a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from Auckland University and a Master's Degree in Film from AUT.

    Sharon designs learning to meet the student’s artistic desires and ability levels, always placing special emphasis on the student’s artistic voice. Her tuition is designed to be approachable, creative and fun, as well as constructive, educational and impactful.


    This event is part of Sculpture Festival 2025, a showcase of stunning object art, contemporary jewellery, and outdoor sculpture by more than 50 New Zealand artists.
