NEW WORKS | Emma Camden + Zara Dolan + Kara Burrowes

Thursday 24 September to Saturday 31 October

Time

10.00AM – 4.00PM

Open Tuesday to Saturday.

Venue: The Central Art Gallery

Emma Camden’s latest sculptural series, Architect’s Head, ventures into new territory as she pushes against the limitations of traditional cast glass-making. With newfound freedom, Emma sculpts once unobtainable shapes and forms and introduces beautifully ‘scarred’ textures to some of her raw surfaces.

Zara Dolan’s new collection of monotype works, The Interaction of Colour, sees Zara move away from previous sweeping gestures to a pared back visual language, focusing more on the relationship of colour. With lovely linear movement, Zara lets the interaction of colour move to the forefront as her mark-making takes a subtle step back.

Kara Burrowes’s current body of mixed media work, trace, is enticingly atmospheric, deliberately indistinct, and emotive. With scratched and scraped surfaces her paintings move towards drawings, and her layered embroidery thread akin to hand-drawn lines; the mark becomes a trace of something left behind, remembered or partially lost.
