Paper Craft Workshop

    Make your own books that tell unique stories through their creative shapes. In this workshop participants will create a flower fold book with a hardcover, and a sewn pamphlet book with cascading shaped pages. Explore how to tell a story using interesting and unusual book designs and be inspired by ancient stories and objects from the UC Teece Museum. 

    Meg Nicoll is an art educator who specialises in paper craft, collage and bookmaking. Prior to moving to Ōtautahi in 2023, Meg was art educator at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Currently, she teaches art at Risingholme and works as a freelance educator. Meg loves introducing people to art-making and is committed to building welcoming and collaborative learning environments where participants feel comfortable experimenting with materials.

    This workshop is suitable for budding artists aged 7-14 years. Caregivers welcome. 

    Places are limited to just 16 artists, so registration is essential.
